Default Up & Down, Up & Down Idle problem just came back......

A few weeks ago I cleaned the screen in the EACV with carb cleaner and the idle ran soo smooth. Yesturday the up & down idle at red lights came back. Since it was the EACV cleaning that helped in the first place, should I just replace the whole thing? Have you guys ever done this? I know this problem can be caused by many different things.

btw... 90 Civic Si

P.S. I replaced my Vehicle Speed Cable last night and that was fun... it actually works now.
and I got new 6.5" speakers in the rear y0

It could be a bad EACV or you just didn't cleaned it up real good. LOL Try cleaning the TB, recheck the EACV again, and check your spark plug and stuff.. Help this brotha out..

Will do. Me and Brewcity were just talking about that. Dirty coolant leads to dirty screen? WHat exactly does the EACV do? thanks keith

if all else fails...check you TPS voltage. if its at all under 0.45 V when closed it can cause a surging problem.

Also check the warm idle. To do this warm the engine to operating temperature. Disconnect the ECAV. The idle should be ~750 RPM. If not adjust the idle screw which can be found on the top rear of the TB. Screwing In decesases out increases!

Good Luck

Make sure and check for a code!
It could eb a combination of several things. I had the exact same problem
where after driving the idle would bounce from 700-1500! How annoying!
I had a bad EACV AND a lose idle adj screw.
