Timing advance...which way to turn distributor?
Quick question..do you turn the distributor toward the front of the car or away from you toward the back of the car when trying to advance timing? I have to prove a point to someone because they won't believe me
Also, do all D series and B series motors have this direction in common?
Thanks.

If you were standing on the passanger side looking at your distibutor would you turn in clock wise or counter clock wise to advance your timing?
Lol.. Methinks you don't have a timing light..
Look from the passenger side and turn counterclockwise to advance.
The red line next to the blue line is my reference point. The long red line with the * is the starting reference point. You don't have to turn much to get a 2 degree advance. If you use a felt tip pen like I did, all the markings rub off and you can have that oh-so-clean look again.

I have a timing light, but I have a bet with a friend because he didn't believe me and I won't be able to prove this to him until next week. Just wanted to get proof on the net a little quicker
