how high is the cowl..will it clear 2"??

 

I had a semi custom Si hood done by Fiber images for 500 bucks. It was a perfect fit and it did not just had carbon fiber outer layer on the outside of it like the usual CF hoods out there. It had a CF skeleton/frame on it and the inside of it was CF as well. It came with a very clean clear coat and the edges were smoothed and rounded off.

My friend's have had bad experiences with VIS products before especially when they started out because their CF hoods would turn yellow in the sun and the kits wouldn't fit remotely right.

I've compared Fiber Images, arospeed, and vis hoods side by side and you can see the quality they put in the Fiber Images hood.

Don't forget hood pins!

 

I have a vis hood, it's quality was alot better than fiber images, but fiber images is the only one that makes an sir hood for the usdm front end, vis sir is only for the jdm front ends.

I paid 580 for mine but that was like 2 years ago. they show be cheaper now.

 

I love my fiber images, fit is amazing and carbon quality is just as good...

 

while we're on the topic of cf hoods. i'm looking into getting the zc cf hood. any reccomendations on where to purchase from ???? thanx guys!

 

I would personally get the one from bodykitsnw, the carbon fiber zc hood there had a vent on the end of the zc hump.

 

I got my VIS ZC hood a year and a half ago. It still looks like the day I got it. Impressive quality. I've never used hood pins and it is fine. It has a fiber glass skeleton on it, but its not like fiberglass really weighs that much more than CF anyway.
