hood pins are not necissary but deffinately recomended
(I have been running my VIS w/o hood pins for over a year now at high speeds)
I have not used any thing but water and soap
I would imagine if you wax it, it will be shinny b/c you are waxing the clear not the CF
just like your paint

No u dont need pins it has a bolt up for the clip in the front.

You should be able to by polish and you can also wax it and buff it for scrathes too.

CF hoods i've never seen the resin on a carbon fiber hood last over a year...gets faded, loses its shine, and looks very very tacky...regardless of the brand or how often washed/waxed.. i'm glad i never invested in one.

Just wax the hood as you would your paint and your hood should look good all the time.
