Difference in Hoods?
I was looking at getting a Carbon fiber hood. The Other day however i found somone selling a fiber glass hood that was a lot cheaper the CF hood. Is there a big difference between the 2 and is one better then the other. all advice is appreciated.
Fiberglass will be prone to cracking and from what I've seen generally do not have as good quality fitment as some of the higher end CF hood molders have.
Fiberglass was the staple lightweight bodypanel for muscle car guys for years, if you ever see a muscle car with a big cowlhood 9 out of 10 it's a fiberglass hood. Just like CF hoods if it's made by someone that knows what they are doing in a quality mold you'll never regret it. If it's some peice of crap from an off brand company you'll regret it. Bang for the buck fiberglass is the way to go. But, CF blings alot harder, which is why so many people on here are telling you to go for it.
