I think my IACV is dirty or broken, because when I turn on the car with it plugged in it idles at 2000rpm, but when I disconnect it idles at 1000, is there anyway to clean it or test it?
remove the two bolts that attach it to the intake manifold.
clean the two screens with carb cleaner or brake cleaner.
replace unit.
should do the trick.
and you dont have to loosent eh coolant lines either.

you can check to see if it is a bad unit also by tapping the connectors to battery power for it to click. just enough time, like a split second to hear a click from the solenoid (valveswitch) inside the unit.

What about the alen key adjusting screw, am I allowed to loosen or tighten that? I heard from a friend of mine that I shouldn't touch that at all.
