Compression test results -=o(
We did a compression test on a 94 SI hatch the othe day and yeilded these results: 130-125-125-160 (in order of 4-3-2-1). We then added a capful of oil in each cylinder and yielded these results (165-170-170-165). Rings were probably shot after boosting 10-12 psi for a month or so. My question is: Has anyone tried that RESTORE engine lubricant? Is it only a temporary fix to the problem or do the rings HAVE to be replaced? Thanks.

closest you can come to boosting compression by 1 point with oem pistons in a d16z6 would be with d16a6 pistons which should give you about 10.8:1. Use a turbo headgasket to get it down from there....otherwise use the z6 pistons.

Using that calculator, I came up with a 11.9:1 compression ratio with JDM B16A pistons, and a 12.4:1 compression ratio with JDM B16B pistons.
Maybe you should try using the calculator again before you spout bad info.
