Default Graduation money!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just graduated high school and i"m hoping to get mad money I currently drive a 94 VX with AGXs, Skunk2 coilovers, B&M short shift, and a Magnaflow muffler with 2 1/4 piping. I want a motor real bad. Would a be better of with a B16 swap or a turbo D16z6. I want to do all the work myself. Thanx for your opinoins.

Since your gunna be in college..you are going to want something to get you there everyday..so in that case, I suggest the b16 motor. When you go turbo...you need to maintain it or else you will have problems left and right. Thats just my opinion though..Good luck

If you are really interested in the turbo route. buy a b18b and turbo that. It'll squirt out a little more ponies for a similar cost of the turboed d16.

Yeah, I second that, good luck ZagEG

Oh, and back on topic, IMO go for the reliability of the swap, perhaps with a modest nitrous shot if you want a little extra pep at the track (Just don't abuse it). Then you close the bottle, drive home, and still get 30mpg

how is it a lost cause? people have discussed this so much that i'm surprised you are still saying that. for the price of a b16 swap he could get a z6 with turbo, and it would kick the b16's *** without a problem. i would probably a get b16 so it'll be reliable for college, especially if there's not too much spare money floating around to fix the little problems that will come up.

Yeah dude I would just get a b16a for the reliablity issues. But if you have enough money get a b18c1. I"m in college also and I have made so many road trips in my hatch without any problems what so ever. I truthfully wouldn't turbo your hatch until you get out of school, because of all the maintenance issues and little things here and their that go wrong. Soon as I graduate I plan on playing with FI.
