when i get close to redline it knocks me back

Default when i get close to redline it knocks me back

ok so i didnt race anyone for a long time until last night, i ran with this 98 teg.

anyways as im changing gears from 1st to 2nd im almost at redline and it knoks me back hard and pops in nuetral.??? whats goin on?? cuz i tried it again and when i push to 7000rpm or red it knocks me bak.

Dude, that thing that's "knocking you back" is called the REV LIMITER, and hitting it constantly is NOT a good thing. It's designed to prevent the engine from revving out of it's specified range. There is a reason why it's called the "redline" dude.

UHHH, yeah. rev limiter. hitting that = bad. what gen prelude do u have? ive got a 5th gen and my redline is marked at 7400 but i usually shift at 7900 and it wont hit the limiter.
im guessing you dont have a 5th gen then if its knocking at 7000. check the specs for your gen prelude.

HAHAHA....sorry, ya as earlier stated it would be the rev limiter.

Continue to do that until the rev limiter malfunctions, you rev it past 8k, and the engine blows the hell up. Then come back to H-T and change your username to DR.DUMB.

how can u shift at 7900, you should hit the rev limiter at the MOST at 7500, maybe u should took a look into that.. you should lose power anyway around 7400
