Brake Tech: Steps to replace warped Rotors.
I need to replace my front rotors on my 98 Civic HB and would like some tech info if possible. From what I understand the swap should be simple. let me know if im missing a step.
1. remove wheels, jack the car up of course
2. Loosen the two bolts on caliper and remove.
3. Slide off rotor.
4. Clean backing plate and place new rotors on
5. Replace caliper and re tighten bolts.
Is their anything I am missing? Does anyone have a link to a more technical site with pics? Thanks a lot.

sounds right but there are 2 screws in each rotor that hold it to the hub, and they are a bitch to get loose. most people end up just drilling them out, this is probably the most annoying part of the install but all in all it should take about 10-15 min for each corner
If your rotors are warped, u can actually just bring them to a car place (forget wich) and they will cut each rotor for a cheap price.
did it on the minivan a few weeks back.

2 screws and a cotter pin?! I had no idea it was that easy!!!
Here's my n00b question--can I change brake pads without bleeding the system???
I should address this before I do 2 auto-x's and an HPDE in a 3 week period!!!

There is no cotter pin...just the 2 screws. Use an impact driver to remove them.
You don't need to bleed the brakes after a pad change, but since you will be tracking it, it's a good idea.

It's not necessary, but its a real good idea to pick up new pads when you replace rotors. Rotors wear to pad, pads wear to rotors, etc. You get the idea, it would add some life to your rotors.

Pep Boys does it for $8 per rotor.
Make sure you clean the hubs really well before you mount the rotors. Don't want any rust in there to make the rotors untrue.
