My friend sent them an sr20 for them to sleeve. They sent it back saying they didn't have the time to set the cnc machine up for it or something like that. This was about 6 months ago though.

Well Im kinda leaning towards boring it to 90mm and there has been someone who has done this to the SR20 block but it needs to be sleeved first then bored to this size. I also have to get a custom head gasket made because the stock gasket cant be modified to this size either. I have emailed RS Machines and they said that they could do some block work for me but I didnt ask if they could resleeve it for me.

Oh by the way i tried to search for the RS Machines HT member and couldnt find any posts by them. It seems like I have seen that name being used by someone on here also?

ouch thats what i call a low blow. seems as though they have had problems in the past and it has been fixed which has also been addressed on this site. the other good machine shop was KS motorsports and now im hearing things about their bad work. in a few months though i will b sendin out my GSR block to GE for their sleeves anyways.
actually i have a question for GE manu. after sleeving has there been many problems with the force that the sleeves get installed with it "warping" the block and needing the mains line bored??? just curious its always a concern of mine.

Well, sometimes there is a problem with the line bore, but it is not the force of the sleeves going in, it is the material removal from the cast block taking the old sleeves out. I would say 1 out of 10 - 15 blocks or so needs to be line bored, but I line bore every block I build because IMO, it is the only way to build a motor. But that's just me. Also, for all the smart *** people out there who want to talk smack, keep talking. We'll be here long after you're gone because we do supply the best product available!!!

I agree. Machining the stock sleeves out of the block is removing a piece of the block's structure, which can cause the main saddles to "relax". It's simply good engine-building practice to check the alignment of the main bores...and for all of you who think that another west-coast sleeving company's blocks don't need to be line-honed......it's pure BS. We've hadn an opportunity to build some of these blocks recently and they're (way) out there.....
This is one more reason we use GEM exclusively for large-bore engines we build.
