Default does anyone have experience with naval jelly?

i used some to remove rust from a metal piece and it worked! only problem is that when i wash the jelly off with water, like directed, some rust, like on brake rotor, forms on the surface. does anyone have any tips or know how to prevent this?

thanks

you're not supposed to wash it off. I don't know what directions you read. You're supposed to let it dry, then primer over it with rust fighting primer.

the directions came straight from the back of the bottle. it says wash it off with water. it did not say anything about letting it dry and paining over it. doing that will just leave the rust between the metal and paint even if naval jelly dissolved it.

I am NOT talking about BRAKE ROTORS AT ALL, i just used that as an example of what type of rust is forming. im cleaning and taking of rust on a metal panel, to be more exact the bucket metal that holds the foam on del sol seats.

anyone at all have experience working with naval jelly to prevent the rust from forming?

did you read the rest of the instructions? If i remember correctly, it says to apply primer or some protective coat to prevent rust from reappearing after nave jelly is removed.
