Default Infamous Header Rattle

Posting this here to get more people to read it, I also posted in the itr section.

I installed a DC Sports 4-1 header on my 2k1 Integra GSR and now I've got that damned header rattle around 3k rpms. VERY VERY annoying!

I thought it might be the heat shield by the cat, since that is the area it sounds like it is coming from, but unless the cat is moving a good 2 inches there's no way it's hitting that. There was no rattle with the stock header.

The clearance on the oil pan concerns me, it's about 2mm, seams like a very likely place to be hitting, but it doesn't sound like it is coming from there and if it were I would think it would be a very common problem. And I have no clue how that would be fixed.

Everything I read seams to be about older itrs with a stock header, it has been rattling since I put the thing on when it only had 20k miles. Any ideas? or should I just give the people at DC Sports a punch in the stomach?

Is your donut gasket still good? May want to try changing the spring bolts to normal bolts.

Mine Rattels due to the stock header holder, it's a metel thing that touchs the exhaust and when it's moving it raddels

I know we didn't forget to put the gasket on and I remember it was in good condition, the car only had 20,000 miles on it when I put the header on.

It is bolted to the bracket firmly, I checked it a million times, ok 3 times.

When I get home I'mm going to take all the heat shielding off even it I don't think it is hitting. It was suggested that sometimes it rattles just because it sucks.

maybe its one of the heat shields, cuz i took off all my heat shields around the cat and piping area and there was no more rattling.

That bracket bolts to the block on the other end -- I had a rattle because one of those bolts had gotten lose.
