Default Guys, will this work?

I am doing a swap for the THIRD time, but I never ased this question before... WILL IT WORK? If not tell me why please.

I am swapping a B18A1 into a 1990 Civic SI. I am using the stock Si wiring harness on the B18, and putting that into a integ ECU.

I don't have an integ ECU. Can I use the Civic/CRX Si ecu??

thanks for your logical, and explained answers.

If the B18 has all the same sensors that the CRX has, then there's really no reason it won't work. I highly doubt it'll be an optimal solution - a 1.8L is going to require different fueling curves than a 1.6L - but it should get you where you're going until you set something better up.

no it wont work, ur gunna need the obd0 ecu u out of a 90-91 ls or rs, but the harness should work fine, and the ecu should plug in

Your going to run lean.... I would crank up the Fuel pressure till you get the right ECU. And yes a 90-91 LS RS ECU WILL work. Have fun!

Ok, since there's a lot of mixed info here, I'll try to make this simple.....

If your "B18A1" swap is from a 90-91 Integra, then yes it'll all plug right into the CRX harness and no wiring will need to be done. If your B18A1 is from a 92-93, then it's an OBD-1 motor and the wiring and some electronics will be different so you'll need to either change or swap out the sensors/parts accordingly to run OBD-0.

Yes, your CRX ECU will work and you won't have any ECU codes, but it won't be making the B18A LS motor run at full potential. Get yourself a 90-91 Integra 5-spd ECU.

Newman,

Yes, this was the answer that I needed. I guess that I should have asked a little differently. I knew that I am going to have to swap some sensors. to fit the new harness. I knew that the ECU would plug in I just didn't know whether it would run the engine or not, although logic told me it *would*. This makes #3 for me. I just never had to use an SI ECU. Is it going to run like hell? Erradic idle and stuff like that?

I was concerned about the fuel curves, etc... being wrong.
Anyway, thanks all for the answer... keep up the discussion.

Scott

I think it will run...think you are going to want to run an LS ECu though... For safety
