Default just finished swap... check engine light on...

d16z6 w/ turbo in 94 cx. everything started up fine, idles fine . running lean once it warms up cuz i havent tuned the hondata yet. check engine light has been one since it started. i dont know how to check it myself to get the code?

when i drive it , any rpm.. whenever i push the gas enough to hit 2psi it cuts fuel.. car doesnt stall or anything... just jerks and you take your foot off of the gas.. its fine again.

also, any speed, stopped. in gear, nuetral ..whatever. wont rev past 4k rpm. hits it and bounces slowly like a rev limiter? like i said, it is running very lean. and i am not driving it til i go to tune... but i was thinking maybe these two problems are just something to do with the hondata cuz it is not tuned yet? it has a start up map in it.

but i know you are supposed to tap into two ECU pins and connect em or something to make the CEL code flash out in the dash? anybody know how i am supposed to do this so i can see if i have a real problem, or if it is just the hondata messing up cuz it is un-tuned? thanks a lot in advance!!!

Use the jumper on the passenger side right above the kick under the glove box to check your codes. It is in a green rubber case.

ok, there are tow different plugs inside that green rubber thing. one has two wires, one has three. do i just stick a paper clip in there or something to connect the wires so they will flash the coed? or do i have to plug them into somethiung somewhere. thanks

nm, figured it out w/ search. but i guess since it is not flashing any codes.... would this mean it is something with the hondata cuz it is messed up or un-tuned.? thanks

Stick it in the two plug and make sure it is in there securely and properly because a lot of times they will not be in there and nothing will happen.

You did have the key on right? Not trying to sound like a dick just asking. If so did it just stay lit up and not blink at all or light up then turn off?

i connected the wires with paper clip.... then turned the key to the ON position... the light just stayed lit up.... never flashed or turned off. it is supposed to turn off after 2 seconds but ever since i started my car with this engine, it never turns off once the key is on. the oil light and all that in the dash turn back off, but not the check engine light. and when it didnt flash anything, i figured that it is just a bad connection with the hondata or something.

I bet it has something to do with the Hondata.

Jesus Christ: it's sensor. Censor - to forcefully omit something due to graphic content, etc.

Anyhow, you need to figure out what code it's throwing: it has to be throwing a code.

If the light just stays on and does not go off and does not blink then that means Code 0....Bad ECU..

well everything else works fine... so the bad ecu is only cuz of the hondata. has a loose connection or a bad base map or something. i know the ECU works fine. worked fine when it was in my crx. and everything starts perfect, idles perfect.. and no, no sensors are out.

oooh this happened exactly to me... My car would only rev to 4000 RPM... the fastest I could go was like 40mph... it wasn't the ecu or the wiring... it endedup being the IAT sensor... there is this little spring in there held by a little plastic thing... well I guess when I got my motor working it just snapped and the spring was loose... therefore ecu didn't know what the heck was going on... put my car in "limp" mode... mine did this and I did not have one engine code .... check the sensors!!! its the sensor on the back of the intake manifold(actually mine is an ls intake manifold so might be different then yours) check this out and lmme know if this is what it was... according to yor symptoms sounds exactly like my car!!

yea, i know where the IAT sensor is. on the back side of the IM. but... i drove around with this sensor unpluged for like months when the engine was in my crx, ran fine. the 4k rev limiter is a loose connection between the hondata and the ecu. and the 2psi fuel cut is the way the base map was designed. i am going to have it tuned this wednesday. if tuning downst fix the problem. then i will start to address it from a different angle. thanks for all the ideas though guys!
