How exactly does a t3 turbo work w/ internal wastegate???
Ok I have a 94 integra ls and I havce decided to build a t3 turbo b/c I want fast spooling and a nice daily driver car. I know everything else about a turbo like proper fuel managment, BOV, piping, intercooler ect. But I don't quite understand how a garett t3 turbo works with the internal waste gate. Does that mean it is set at a certain PSI and I can't adjust it or can I still up the PSI a little. I plan on keeping one set PSI when the turbo is in my car. Also the manifold I would get would have to come with out the waste gate flange correct? What size IC piping and downpipe do most t3 turbo's have. Will I have any problems installing this in my integra w/ fitment or special parts I would need or is it pretty strait forward. thanks in advance
You can use a boost controller just like you would with an external wastegate. It has a vacuum line that hooks up to the actuator that you can install a boost controller in between. You will want a manifold without the wastegate flange or you can cover the flange up. The downpipe will probably have to be custom made because there are different styles of external wastegates and they all dont fit the exact same. Just take a good look at one and you will see how it all works.
works the same as an external....just the gasses are diverted in a different place..use a boost controller to control boost...its the easiest way
what model t3 are you talking about? If your are referring to one like a Ta03, you can simply install a boost controller like mentioned above. But, the settings are basically set from the factory per application.
w/ out the boost controller how can I adjust it to a certain PSI. I don't really need a boost controller if it is not neccessary b/c I don't want to be remotly tempted to up the boost and I know with a boost controller sitting in hands reach I definetly will. Like basically If I were to install this turbo kit my self, like every part will it have a set PSI already or can I manually shange the boost soem how.
