Just did a turbo upgrade last night..........(OT Saab)
We started and finished my friends turbo upgrade on his Saab 97 900 last night. We replaced the stock (blowen) T25. With a larger T3 from a Saab 9000. We had to make a custom DP and slot the holes on the turbo + manifold to get it all to bolt up. We couldn't do much driving last night becasue of the rain. The dam thing would loose traction in every gear on the highway. Right now he is only boosting 10 psi adn the car seems to have more power then the T25 had at 15 psi. One think I saw is there is now plenty of room for a T4 compressor so a T3/T4 wouldn't be hard to make work. We should have some G-tech runs tonight.

just a question about those turbos (the t-25 and t3). What are the stock boost levels that the wastegate opens up at? I was thinking about a T3 or maybe just settle with a t-25 but I'm not sure on the boost levels that the internal wastegate opens at.

I am not sure i think they are both pretty low. (5 psi? ) Saab uses a factory EBC to control the boost level. Last ngiht with the T3 waste gate running strait off the turbo outlet We were seeing 5-6 psi but he wasn't pushing it and the roads where wet but I think between 5-8 is the stock settings. Also get the T3 the T25 off his Saab was a joke!!

No, what he's saying is the stock boost levels are about 5-6psi, and the factory EBC raises it from there. So, factory should be 5-6. One thing about saab turbos, most of them come with adjustable wastegate actuator rods. You can adjust to whatever boost level you want.
