Default Since when did 76 change their octane grade?

I was driving home from my friend's house today when I realized that my gas light came on. Oh well got to look for a gas station. I came across a 76 gas station with the supreme being only $2.07 per a gallon. That is cheap for all you non-Californian. So I proceeded to fill up with some supreme. Then when I looked at the selection button there were no 92 . They only had 87, 88.5, and 91. I had no choice but to fill up with 91. What I am wondering is this the same with all the other 76? I mostly pump Cheveron so I hardly ever encounter 76.

We have 93 here in Charlotte and Citgo even has 100 oct. straight out of the pump for $5.00 a gal.
