well my y1 tranny is dying on me when i got it it was kinda messed up already but now 3rd gear is practically dead, shifting into third at any speed higher then 30 mph or 3000 rpm will result in grinding im assuming the synchro is messed up? how much to buy a new one and how hard is the labor to put it in? and what car do i get it out of? this is a first gen jdm b16a motor with a y1 cable tranny, thanks

 

Before I can help with your problem I need to know your future plans. If you're staying all motor, I suggest sticking with an other y1. If a turbo is next, I suggest an ls tranny from an early 90-93 integra. Prices range from 200$ to 500$, if you need one I can get one for you no problem. Hope this helps.

 

how much for a y2 tranny with lsd? i wanna a hydro tranny since right now i am using an adapter to run the cable clutch on my 92

 

I'm sorry for taking so long getting back to you, but I'm really busy getting ready for the next NIRA race. The y2 tranny you want doesn't exist, I think the one you're talking about is the y21 Type-R tranny. Is that the one you want? Let me know.

 

well maybe it's not the y2 tranny then but i'm talking about the type r tranny i'm talking about a second gen jdm b16a tranny thats is hydro and comes with lsd, i know for a fact that this tranny exists, the lsd was a factory option in japan
