hey, about 2 months ago i bought a cheap test pipe that replaces the cat off ebay, i havent gotten around to installing it but i know that its illegal to drive around with so i was kinda skeptical about throwing it on. It bolts on so i could take it off if i wanted. Then i was lookin on ebay and i saw an exhaust cutout.....its pretty much the same i dea, but u can switch it back to the legal method with the flip of a switch, and this cutout goes before the cat and after the headers. I've thought about something similar in the past. Unfortunately, there are some problems involved with relating this idea to our cars. Most notably, there is no pipe between the headers and the cat. This would mean you'd have to engage in some major custom work to fab everything up. In theory, it's a great idea, though -- full cat for street use, open exhaust, straight out of the header, for track use.

 

Even if you get it on, an open exhaust will be loud as f*ck...you'll go deaf in 15 secs.

just gut ur car out like i did..if cops look and see you have no cat big fine..but if u gut ur cat out cops dont know..I done it to my car..car sound it a bit loud at wot but i like it...
