Default Lifting a civic? RALLY STYLE!

I have a 4wd civic wagon. It is fun. It has a d16a6 engine, mpfi. I have modded it a bit: 99si rims w/kumhos 15/55/195, exedy clutch, custom mandrel bent exhaust, sparco-copy DAD seats, moved the battery to the back, took out the A/C. I'm in the process of turboing it...I have a hf manifold, adaptor plate, t25 turbo, dsm bov, & side mount intercooler....just need to get a FMU, check valves, & some assorted oil & vaccum lines. I can't wait.

It is alot of fun. I live in WA, and drive on alot of dirt roads, in deep snow, as well as tearing it up the twisties. I want to upgrade the suspension for better handling, on the road & on dirt. I'd prefer not to lose ground clearance...I bottom that **** out all the time on water bars. I know the demands of driving of rutted dirt roads fast, & driving on asphault fast are real different.

The wagons have longer rear trailing arms & shocks than all other civic/crxs, so upgrading them is not easy. The rear sits higher than the front...rear has a 3" gap between wheel well & tire, front has 2" gap. I just want to raise the front 1".

My one thought is to just keep the stock springs & just upgrade the shocks to some tokico blues. I would think the increased damping would help with the body roll under hard cornering.

My other thought is 92-95 civic shocks..they are a bit longer..I've seen people mount them on EFs with shorter springs, lowering them, and losing quite a bit of shock travel. I think if you used stock EG spirngs & shocks it would raise the car slighty.

My other thought is forget about lifting it, and just get my friend who welds offroad stuff to make me a skid plate to protect the oilpan, gastank, tranny & whatnot.

Any ideas?

I am a big fan of ground controls, you should call them and ask if they make an application for your car. They advertise lowering, but I am unsure of raising... but you could always get longer springs from them. Get some decent shocks, gc should have some advice. I also suggest you get some dirt/snow tires and a roll bar/harnesses just incase...

another bellinghamster!

I suggest you call up H&R springs, and see what they suggest. They are quite helpful usually. Tell them you're in Bellingham.

I read somewhere that 94-00 Integra springs are longer, but they fit.

So, I think what i'm going to do is 89-91 shocks, probably tokico blues. With coilovers for a 90-93 teg. Searching around the net, I've found those springs fit, and are longer. Plus the 4wd wagon is about the heaviest civic you can get, & I think the teg spring rate would probably work better.
