Need help! Which Intake to get!Comptech?
Hey my friend just bought a rsx-S and he first wanted to get an intake. In our area (VA) the rice of the aem has gone up dramaticaly and i am wondering what to go with.To my knowledge the only kits that are available are the aem, injen, and comtech ice box.We had our minds set on the ice box, but its not out until wednsday.which intake do u guys think would be of best benefit. He is staying all motor, but still trying to get fast.Thanx guys!

If you want different, get the icebox.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Werd ! AEM has a good rep with intakes and most intakes are even dyno proven to give gains. If ever you don't want the AEM then my vote is on the Injen, if you want something a little different then get the Comptech.

do u guys know if its out for the rsx right now?And whats a good price on it?Yea i knew there had to be some good things about the icebox!I mean **** its Comptech!
I love Comptech, but I gotta say my vote is with AEM CAI. They have time and time again proven that they make the most power throughout the entire power band. If I am not mistaken, the dc5 Ice Box uses the Comptech foam drop-in filter..I find it hard to believe that it cleans the air as well as the K&N/AEM filters. I'd rather run a more safe filter than squeeze that extra 1 or 2 hp out of a dirty engine.

looking at both the websites, it looks like the gains are within .7 HP of each other.
Has the pleated cotton type filter actually been proven safer? manufacturers of each of the types tout their particular filtering capability. If anyone can shed some REAL light on this i would appreciate it. Not just "my friend had a K&N and his throttle plate was dirty". Some real filtration/flow rate facts.
It looks to me like a cotton filter may flow better based on area....but a foam one filters very well based on it's "full depth" design vs. the typical "surface type" paper or cotton filter.
