i have to disagree.. yes an intake is and intake because it is an intake. but, some intakes are better than others. aem is the best. http://aempower.com/induction.htm

yeah. not all intakes are the same especially when your talking about the V2. No other Intake I know of has used sound frequencies to force more air into the cylinders. If it really works, then its pretty amazing

just wait, im sure there will be knockoffs.

and their 'huge' gains become relatively marginal gains over the original CAI. They use a 16.9 HP gain on a 6th gen civic DX... well the original had around an 11HP gain over stock.

yeah, they have zirconia-based powdercoating which reduces heat soak. I don't know how effective it is, but if theres any improvement, its worth it to me.

Ive been studing thier old dyno charts and thier new ones. the new V2s do make over all power but they have a bigger dip in the powerband then the old one does. and its powerband is different, depends on the car i think. Some mag should do a Intake shootout and see how they all stack up....

They did that shootout already..

I have to look in one of my books to see it but it went..

1. AEM - 20.9 HP gain on stock RSX
2. DC - 14.9 HP gain on stock RSX
3. INJEN - 12.5 HP gain on stock RSX
4. ....etc..etc..etc

well they should do another shoot out of the old AEM CAI VS. New CAI on like 4 different motors:
D16z6/y8
B16a
B18c1
B20

now that would be hella tight with some major dyno graphs and usefull info on how BOTH CAI will affect the powerband of each MOTOR!

yea, but all those figures ya'll are referring to look like peak #'s, that doesn't show other gains/losses throughout the power band. i saw a dyno in one of the mags a month or so ago & there were more gains w/ teh v2, but i don't know if teh gains made up for the losses, and the power was in different places in teh band. just my $.02

they just did an intake shoot out in that new mag TPR put out by the makers of drag sport. it tested a whole bunch of short ram and cold air intakes and the INJEN 2pc. made the most power on a stock 99 si. it beat the aem v2. the thing that sucks about the v2 is, you have to change a tranny mount ad it cost like $400. no joke. http://www.tprmag.com
