I've noticed Injen has heatshield on their intake....what's that? I know they're more pricy than AEM. What do you guys think? Same thing?

The heat shield is used for exactly what its called As far as picking either one, it's your preference and your money...

an intake is an intake

clubrsx.com has some charts and comparisons if that would help you sway your decision on which intake to go with

are we speaking of a short ram intake or do you have plans to get a cold air intake system? you made reference to the injen w/a heat sheild which leads me to believe that you want a SRI. if this is the case go with the AEM V2. if you want a CAI then go with whatever you think looks better or price. you will be happy with either of those.

Why buy the short intakes? They don't even move the filter very far away from the heated air.

The ClubRSX intake test showed no real gains for buying the short rams, they're just for looks.

The heatshield does very little and in some tests even some harm as it blocked air flow within the engine compartment. For a SRI, the heat issue is related to warm ambient air, not radiant heat which is what a heat shield can block. On a hot day, is a hat going to help you breath cooler air?
