Default ID Junkyard Tranny

Im going to swap out my auto tranny for a manual and i found a CRX tranny but not sure if its a HF, DX, or SI. How do you ID each one????? please help

L3 should be an Si I believe, correct me if I am wrong. Might be L4

My Si says L3 on it.

I thought the HF tranny had L3 stamped too. I just dont want an HF tranny.

All 88-91 trannies are L3's. Look for the circular stamping above the pass. side axle. My says PL3-3000. That is a Si trans.

not true - this number is the number for that part of the tranny case - different numbers depending on the bearing sizes - i have 2 DX with PL3-3000 - 2 ZC with PL3-3000 - Si with PL3-3000 - Si with PL3-9000 - Si with PL3-A000 - DX with PL3-A000 - HF with PL3-A000 and 4spd with PL3-A000
