problem with throttle cable... jrsc
anyone running the jrsc having problems with their throttle cable shearing?
i obviously do.
it seems that the throttle cable is rubbing against some part of the manifold, is this a common problem with the jrsc? my car only has 18,xxx miles and i don't want to have to replace a throttle cable every 15k miles.
anyone have any advice? i will try to post up pics.

thanks steve,
i just spoke to a tech at jackson racing and he told me exactly what you did, the pivit wheel tends to ceaze if it isn't greased properly.
heads up to all you dudes with the jrsc, keep the pivit wheel greased!
*edit for bad grammar

I've had a jrsc for over a year and my throttle cable just broke. I have been concerned that the strain of supercharging would cause damage to my engine. However I would never have thought that my broken throttle cable could have been related to the jrsc. H-T RULES! Now I wonder if it had anything to do with my cracked exhaust manifold.
finally found a web host...
for those of you wondering what exactly i am talking about, here is a picture to illustrate:

the black thing under the cable is the pivit wheel.

Yeah they will eventually break, but new cables are only like $15 anyway so it's not too big of a deal.
If you really want to get fancy, you can swap in a GSR cable, but you will have to change the throttle cam to a GSR one and then attach the GSR cable stop.
In the end it's much cheaper and easier to just buy a new cable every once in a while.

It is a big deal if it strands you like it did me. Now that I know about this problem I'll keep an eye out and replace it BEFORE it breaks.
