Default A little launch help please!

Hey guys I was just wondering whats a good launch range for a LS with a aem cai and thermal axel-back, and a 180k on it...I haven't really fooled around her too much and am looking to have some good fun with her this summer...so if all you LS owners would help me out that would be great!...-Roger

I launch at 2500. IT also depends on where u do it, tires, etc. Just practice and practice.

Depends on too many things. Launch low and go up higher and higher till you hit the sweet spot

i'd like to hear some pointers on cutting a good light...
I will be dragin' at the end of this month, and i think i pretty much have the launch, and tire pressure down.... just need some pointers on the lights, so i can keep the times down as much as possible!

TIA

Hey Roger - As for launching, I'd probably find a nice open parking lot and practice there. Try both drop clutching and feathering the clutch to find out what works best with your ride. In my GSR, I'd hold the RPM at 3600 and drop clutch - I found that this worked the best for me but some say that holding the RPM at 4000 and feathering the clutch worked best for them. Again, this is for a GSR so I'm not sure about the LS'. With the higher low-end torque of the LS, I would think that you wouldn't need to rev the engine that high.

As for cutting a good light - I found that for a standard 500 tree, leaving right after the last yellow light flashed yielded in good RT's for me. My best RT to date using this method is a .542. DO NOT wait until the green - I did that my first time and it resulted with an awesome 1.20 sec RT

i do pretty much the same thing.....best light ever cut was a .502 and i consitantly cut . 540 in that area.........you wanna launch in the yellow ....if you wait till its green you are gonna cut at least a 1.---

i own a 94 dc2 RS model. and before i throw a vtec motor in there i would smash on people at the street races all day long...and this was mostly from my launch skills.. but i was launching at around 3000-3400, i would smash on GSR's, Ludes and GT mustangs in my good ole RS. the best thing was when people would ask me to pop my hood... or the rumors going around that i had a head package. ahahah but yeah, when it comes to launching or anything with cars its all about doing it over and over and over till you find YOUR sweet spot.. everyone is different... and tire diamater is different
