Kill switch Ignition wire location???
im installing a kill switch and im in the process of moving at the same time and i cant locate my helms...can someone tell me were the low voultage ignition wire is so i can hook it all up? thanks
Generally people break the either the negative or positive wires to the fuel pump for a kill switch. However, if you must do it your way, there are a number of wires that you could cut to keep the ignition from working. If your using an external coil, you could tap into one of those wires. But it wouldn't be nearly as effective.

when you say nearly as effective...does that mean the switch will practically be usless and i should just hook it up to my fuel?...

I dunno, its just better to do the fuel. You gotta take out your back seat to get to the fuel pump, which is why its so effective, if they can't find the switch they arent going anwhere for quite some time. You basically have to take the entire bench out, and you will see it. Just search "kill switch" and instructions for the sort will come up, with pics. Good luck.

alright....i kinda follwed these instuctions i found through searchin...and it didnt really work.... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=187410...cut into the big yellow...didnt work...is there something else i need to do? some type of ground maybe? as you can tell...i do not know what i am doing haha..thanks for all the help...
you might want to think of other alternatives than just igntion and fuel pumps. i got a neutral kill switch. its the wire that gives power to the clutch when you step on it to start your car (if its stick). the best switches depends on where you hide it

And the wiring. If it doesn't look factory, it's alot easier to pick it out. If it looks factory it'll be hard to find.

This is weird, it should work if you have it hooked up right. Its fairly basic. You have to get a switch to run inline with either of the pos or neg wires. Like this-
___________[switch]/\[switch]_____________ This should be running.
__________[switch]/ \[switch]____________ This should be not running.
I really cant explain anything else. Make sure you have the switch in both places and try cranking the car, it should work in one, and not the other.
As far as the other kill switch disccussed above, there is alittle button like clutch activated switch at the end of the clutch play, depressed, that is crucial in starting the car, if its not pressed in, it wont start. If you disrupt that, it should also keep the car from starting.

I would recommend splitting into a wire that is not accessible from inside the car and even hard to get to from underneath the car. I'm doing my kill switch project next weekend. Intending to do fuel pump, starter, and injectors.

Will a switch hold the voltage required by the starter?
