I doubt it, if it was faulty I doubt that it V-tec would ever hit. I would check the sensors first. Any CEL codes?

well i have no check eng. codes at all and my mods are cam gears, cat back exhaust and intake, fpr, free flow cat,skunk2 racing chip, act extrame 6 puck clutch. i also have good oil level. The reason for 9200 rpms is when i have cams and type r intake man. i can have the extra rpms to make power.

i actually meant to add that it could be a loose connection or bad wiring to the vtec solenoid.

Slim chance thats your problem. Do you have the old ECU? Try putting it back in if you do.

on my gsr stock ecu and vtec setings:fine...use my skunk2 ecu with 5700 vtec..it stutters off and on sometimes when slowly climbing into vtec(3rd and 4th gear)...i'm thinking it's oil pressure..oil pump going out eventually..i've been reading up on this cuz i want NO MORE STUTTERING in VTEC! n-e-1 else got any ideas?

vtec solenoid could be going bad, its a little plunger and if its not got enough pressure behind it in theroy it could be beign pushed back.....
