i was wondering if it is illegal to not tell ur insurance if u get an engine swap. is this true?

 

if its a usdm you can. if not why bother. you cant report a jdm engine stolen anyways

 

do u mean u dont have to report it if its usdm, but u have to if its jdm?

 

well only reason to report it is incase your car was stolen , and you had full coverage and wanted them to replace/pay for the swapped engine.

 

oh i c.....i thought i would have to tell the insurance company right when i swap the engine.... thus raising the insurance. thanks for the help bass

 

its called special equipment insurance. they cover additional equipment on the car aslong as you have receipts. I believe they can cover as much as you want depending on how much extra you pay a month. That will usually be about $25-100 extra a month.
