Default what pistons would you use?

looking for good pistons to use on a all motor daily driven car.. the block is either going to be a b18c or a lsvtec (b18a) i been trying to decide between the itr pistons, ctr pistons, or the second gen b16 pistons.

For daily driven I would probably go with itr pistons. You should be able to make some pretty good hp with them, and other good parts.

itr
ctr are a little too radical. they will up the compression and might have clearance issues. not sure about the latter. not good for daily driving though.

decide how high you want your compression, if your in CA we only have 91 octane so ctr pistons are risky but doable with lots of tuning and mild cams... itr pistons will yield a lower compression which may be more practical.

ITR pistons will do you good, for a daily friven car. if you had 93, CTR will work!

here in australia we have 98 octane, would that be ok for the ctr pistons for daily driver? wat else would i need to make it reliable. I heard that it would be pinging in hot days. also how much gain will i get from b16a?
thanks

on 98 octane you can run very high comression especially with good tunning...

if your putting ctr pistons (PCT) in a b16a you dont get high of compression as you would with the same pistons in a gsr or type r

i am runnig os ctr pistons in a b16a with mugen HG and a vafc untuned just fine and im only able to use 91 octane

with the pistons in a b16a you will see a bump in compression to about 10.8~11
