Did the MPFI swap but car won't start - what should I check?
I did the MPFI swap but it won't start. It doesn't do anything when I turn the key, but the ECU is giving a code 10. I won't be able to check for a spark until tomorrow, since the car's at my school. I could have done some of the wiring or hoses wrong, since I used parts from both a 4wd wagon and Si. Can anyone give me a list of things to check that would stop it from starting, and tell me the easiest or best order to check them in? I won't have too much time to work on it...
10 is TA Sensor, aka Temperature sensor found on the #1 runner on the intake manifold. Most likely if you did MPFI swap you have the sensor near the throttle body (with the white plug on its harness) plugged in there this TA sensor should be. I did the same thing, plug plugs fit each other, just swap them and try. It shouldn't prevent your car from starting but that will eliminate that code. Try and check your firing order also.

1. Body to Valve cover (should be pretty obvious)
2. Battery to Body to Tranny (will be under your battery tray
3. Thermostat
What I did was make my own new grounds. When I did that I sanded down the area aroudn where they bolt in with a dremel so I get a really good contact.

Check distributor wires. also i found out that if you rewire the distributor while its connected to the car it wont start. you have to take it out rewire it and put it back in. . also did your ecu flash any other codes? remember the green plug goes to the EACV on the back of the manifold. and the white plug with the shorter wires goes to the IAT. the white plug with long wires doesnt pluf into anything. it just hangs there.

Thanks for the tips. I forgot to post an update, but I did get the car to start. I also fixed the problem that was giving me a code 10 on the ECU. It's still not running right though, so I'll have to play around with it.
When I ran the two wires from the computer to the distributor, I forgot to label which was which. So I just guessed and I don't know which way is right, since it's not running how it should when I switch it either way. I still have to fix some other problems, but does anyone know what difference it would make if these two wires were switched?
