Default Possible swaps for an EF Civic hatch

I'm doing research for my brother, who is looking to get a '91 civic hatch. I've been searching on this site but haven't found too much about possible swaps into the 4th gen civic hb. I'm a VW guy but I know a decent amount about Honda. I'm thinking of a B18c1...what do I need to complete the swap? I'm assuming mount kit, axels, ecu/harness...anything else? Thanks in advance! Any suggestions on other possible swaps would be appreciated.

I did a search and really didn't come up with much. What was the title of the thread your talking about? Or do you have a link?

Sorry I didn't explain myself better. I know about all the possible motors to do...I'm just unsure of what will fit in the EF Civic hatch. I'm sure any can be made to fit with enough money but I'm looking for the straightest swap or what it would take to swap a B18 or B20

B18A you'll get a lot better tourque from a non-vtec, and if you want to go vtec later you can always swap on the c1 or type-r head. mays issue of sport compact car has a whole big article that gives you step-by-step instructions on swaping in the b18a. it leaves no detail untouched.

As they say, if you want VTEC, you're only a head, ECU and oil line away from it if you do that swap.

Again, I'm aware of all the motors we could use and the benefits of them all...I'm trying to find out how tough of a swap it would be. Easiest ----->Hardest and everything in between is the information I'm looking for. Tech info on the motors themselves is a search button away. I'm not a typical uninformed VW elitest *****, I have a good understanding of and alot of respect for Honda engineering. Thanks for your suggestions but some detailed info on doing the swap is what I'm looking for.
