Spark Plug broke in head....read
Alright so I just buttoned up my rebuilt tranny install today....drove sweet....so i figured I'd throw in some new plugs. I got 3 of 4 in, then I start to put the fourth in. I get to the almost tight point, give it the normal 1/4 turn and snap! The plug broke at the threads below the 5/8" socket head....now there is no head on the plug to remove it. Just threads in the cylinder head and the hook on the bottom of the plug. How can I get this out? Help
What a nightmare
I need to see if someone has a solution here incase it ever happens to me. I just tighten mine down with minimal force until it stops, no forcin here for that exact reason....that and ******* up the threads.

what type of plug u used??
if its a very well known company.... i will say that u can make a nice case off that.... if it is a defective product they shoul dpay u for all the hazzle of taking that out and redoing it....
i say take the head off and take it to a machine shop... and call car insurance or the company itslef the tell them u want to make a case with the company of the plugs.....
its a very bad situation....

I am very lucky...since the hook end was still in, I put a long flathead screwdriver in there to catch it, thenturned the screwdriver using vice-grips...it screwed right out as if it a whole plug. I knew that it wasnt stripped because the old plug never got to the tight point. New plug went in fine. I should call NGK and ******* complain because that could have fucked my whole cyl. head up. I guess it was just a weak plug. Funny cause i must have changed over 100 plugs this was def. a first.
