Default Siezed spark plug??

I just got a new beater (eg for $700!) runs great, usual rust in theback but for the price i cant complain.

Anyway, i compression tested it before i bought it and everything tested good except i couldnt get the #2 spark plug out... I had to apply alot of force to even get it to turn and when it did it was not smooth, it was choppy so i stopped cause i didnt want to force it.

The other 3 cylinders came out fine #2 is jsut the problem. Drove the car homeran great just wondering how i should get the plug out? Should I just try slowly turning it out? What are my options if it breaks off in there? Do i need to pull the head if that happens?

thx

You can try removing the plug and cleaning the threads, but you don't want that crap in your engine.

Be prepared to change your head.

if it breaks in the head cant u just chase the threads or retap it?

I think an entire new head is a bit extreme

If there was enough mositure in the head to sieze a sparkplug up, or it was leaking oil into the spark plug channels .... a broken plug is the least of the problems.

Its most likely corrosion from metal spark plugs and a aluminum head. try some rust penitrant and try to ease it out. turn it out as far as it will go and then screw it back in. put some rust penitrant down the hole and let it sit. try again later. if you break it you will have to pull the head.
