DC JDM Header, Godspeed Testpipe, Hi-Tech exhaust ... Pics!
Here are a few pics of my DC JDM S.S. 4-1 Header, Godspeed Testpipe, and custom Hi-Tech exhaust.
The header: I was surprised with the quality, fitment, and appearence of the DC Header ... it's a lot better than I expected. The welds seem clean, it's much lighter than stock, and the appearance is great. Best header for the money spent in my opinion.
The Testpipe: The testpipe bolted up to the header with no problems. However, because of the extended O2 sensor bung, I had to postion the O2 sensor sideways. As a result there is more tension on the O2 sensor wires. I'm thinking about adding some additional wire to make up for this. So far NO Check Engine light.
The Exhaust: The exhaust was made by John at Hi-Tech. It's a "Indy Light" canister that is welded to an 18" section of 2.5" S.S. piping. The canister is also stainless. I got the idea from Jeff (Lip). I made my own S.S. exhaust hangers out of a 3/8" S.S. rod. The exhaust is VERY loud! I don't daily drive my R ... so it's okay.

I will post some installation photos in a few days. I will be dynoing the car next weekend.

Am I wrong to assume that with that straight SS tubing added to the canister that you plan to flange it and run it under the car? Seems if you plan to mount it in the OE location the tubing is a waste considering the proximity to the axle.
"Indy Light"
I like.....
BTW- How much less weight is the DC Header? Can you approximate the
difference?

Speedy: The exhaust was $250.
RStoR: Yes, the exhaust tubing has 3 bolt flange (not pictured) welded to the end that mates to the testpipe. The canister is hung from the B-Pipe hangers, thus empting under the car.

Indy: I think the DC header weighs around 15lbs. I imagine the stock weighs around 25-30lbs.

The DC header actually looks pretty nice.
You shouldn't have any problems with Dan's test pipe; the fit could've been better in my opinion (the quality of the 3-hole flange is terrible), but NO CEL for 2 months now.

I was just curious if the exhaust empties under the the car is there any problems with this? too hot under car?

MintyDip: I purchased the DC header from NOPI. The price came to $375.00 shipped. If you order from NOPI you must ask them to "match" the price of Options Auto Salon (they were out of stock at the time) of $364.00.
PlayBoi: I don't think the exhaust heat will be a problem. There is a heat shield above the canister and testpipe.

Nice exhaust. I'm waiting to see how much Hi-Tech's full catback will be. Too bad you're going to hide that pretty muffler under your car.
