Default H22A turbo question...

I bought a Garret T3 turbo with a .48 A/R turbine and a .52 A/R compressor. How good will this work on an H22A. I would like to run 8PSI daily and maybe 12psi track. The engine is a JDM H22A

This will be on a stock bottom end tuned with a Hondata S200B. The top end is ported and polished with cam gears and stock valve-train.

I have searched high and low for some answers on here and several other websites. Any ideas what kind of power I could expect?

Can the the stock bottom end handle occasional 12 psi with maybe a small shot of nitrous? This will be tuned of course on 93 octane. Thanks for your help.

12psi is pushing it on a stock block, and adding nitrous to the equation is NOT safe at all on a prelude stock block 12psi. Tuned or untuned, just stick with the boost. 8psi daily driven fully tuned on 93 octane you'll be fine. Firedrake is running 11psi on his stock block h22a and he hasnt had any problems as of yet to my knowledge. However the thing you have to worry about are the ringlands of the pistons, they are the first thing to go on the h series motors. Honestly to be safe just stick to 10psi fully tuned at the track and dont push it unless you do plan on (and have the money for) doing a rebuild in the future. With 10psi fully tuned with the t3 turbo you mentioned you are looking in the 270whp range. What other mods to your fuel system do you plan on having done?

The fuel system mods are an AEM fuel rail, Walbro 255 lph high pressure fuel pump, and 500cc + injectors. Hondata for engine mangement and this will all be dyno tuned. Is there anything else you think I might need?

invest in forged pistons and rods and sleeve the block...

a little formula i came across in HCI magazine may 2003 ed...

[(turbo psi)/(14.7psi atmospheric pressure at sea level)]+(1) X (Stock hp) = estimated (and POSSIBLE not ABSOLUTE) new hp at CRANK not WHEELS.

and of course all numbers can be swayed by how much you tune your engine naturally aspirated before you turbo it. Good luck
