Default did i hydrolock???

on the way home from work tonite... it was raining alot.. and when i almost got home... i had to go through this big puddle.. i made sure to pop it in neutral and cruise thru it... when i reached the end of the puddle.. i started applying more gas.. and all the sudden i see my battery light go on.. and my engine shut off.

My car would not start up at all for about 15 minutes, each time i would start it.. it would make weird boggly gurgly sounds. after more and more attempts.. it finally did start, but it would idle all weird and make weird sounds. after 30 minutes later (still in rain).. the car finally started pretty good.. and alot of smoke or Steam shot out the exhaust. I drove it home.. and everything seems good.

Should i be worried about any internal damage? what should i do? Did i hydrolock or did water just got into the exhaust?

You're not supposed to just pop it into neutral and go through it because you're still going to suck up water. You're supposed to throw it in neutral then turn off the motor and coast through.

Eeek! The last thing I would do is try to start it again! I would get a compression test and change the oil just to be on the safe side

if you hydrolocked your motor should be dead. you might have come close, but didnt since it still runs. check your throttle body to see if it is wet, if it is, you probably sucked in a little water.

this happened to me but my engine was still okay. my throttle body was wet, but still okay.
