b16a swap HOOD rub?
Has anyone cut the support frame underneath their hood so it would not rub on the valve cover. If I cut the area out over the valve cover, will it rub still? I just want to know before I start cutting out ****..
the two bolts that secure your hood latch...you can just go around the problem by putting in some spacers/washers, usually the clearance issues are only about 1/4 of an inch and the hood will rub as the engine moves during shifts...so thats all you need to space and its not even noticeable..i did this with my b18 and HCP mounts and i have a powdercoated valve cover and there isn't even a scratch from the hood.

Very true!!!
Very true!!!
I have a B16 with HASports in my '88 CRX. It rubbed over the pullies initially. First I just cut a piece out of the insulation - that was not enough. Then I cut out the reinforcing rail over the left side of the valve cover and it clears fine.
Just cut out the rail with a pair of aviation snips on the inboard sides of the adhesive blobs. It's easy.

Hrmm, what happen.. ive had mine in for years, never had a prob.. now i would rub hood on stock mounts.. yeah, true EF8's.. but not PR's..
and yeah, shimm down the engine with washers, and then if you have to, you could prop the hood up at the latch.. i think back in the day, i had like a total of 3 or 4 washers under the driver, and pass mount, and my 4-1's werern't very bottom happy.. now im running stright up, wiht a SiR conversion, and no probs..

i had to do the same thing only i used a dremel. B18 + HASport in 89 4dr
anyway you can also space up the back of the hood by using slightly longer bolts and some washers on the hinges. i havent actually tried this yet but i would do this over spacing the engine down. its low enough already IMO.

yeah, but if you use longer bolts, and washers on the hindges, just like i said before with the latch.. it sticks up.. looks funky, like its not latched.. booty.. shim down your engine, you loose alittle ground clearance.. but not like this..
