Just driving home the other nite 4 gear around 105 or so huge cloud of white smoke came inside the car (open downpipe) After the cars makes a funny ticking sound and i noticed smoke coing out offf here..

Anyone have any ideas? car still holds boost, i will be doing a compression check later this week. But i thought i ask u guys first

 

is it still smoking white?? White smoke is coolant, which means head gasket or a cracked sleeve. Check for bubbles in the coolant reseviour (did I spell that right?) and give us more info on your setup.

 

thermostat failure?

 

it wouldnt be the thermstat. definatly the HG i think this has been covered last week. some guy had smoke coming out his breather, same thing as you.

 

The head gasket wouldnt make a ticking sound though would it? Thats why I mentioned that it could be a sleeve...

 

HG might make a ticking sound if the cylinder is running too lean due to low compression (not sucking enough fuel) or pushing from one cylinder to the next can sound like a tick.
