JRSC lag question
I know superchargers dont have lag, but i recently put a JRSC my type r and it doesnt start pulling till around 3500 - 4000 RPM. I thought it was suppose to be instant power as soon as you touch the throttle. Is this the way it should be. If not does anyone have any solutions or why you think this is happening.
No, It should have instant boost. Even at 1500rpm you should get 2+ psi.
Check: the belts are tight enough,
Check: the bypass valve is working and is set right.
Check : for Manifold leaks.

Do you have a boost guage? Are you seeing boost at WOT? Or are you just making a comment that its slow until 3-4k. It does make instant boost, but I dont know how much power youre looking for at 3000RPM
You need to dyno tune it. The Jackson FMU comes set to a very rich setting from the factory. Adjusting it can really get your low end up, but you'll need a VAFC, or even better a standalone, to tune the top end correctly.
ITR ECUs hate JRSCs.

yea very right about the richness.
no more JRSC for me but when i had it with fuel pump, jrsc map controller and stock fmu, i was running really rich up top around 7500 to redline.

If i just start off in 1st gear and hammer the gas, there's no power untill 3500 - 4000 rpm. It feels like it's dead stock anywhere before 3500 rpm. It dont pull at all till then. How do i adjust my by-pass valve, as someone said
happened on a civic install i did where the bypass valve was sticking aginst the manifold a bit. check to make sure it moves freely. we had the exact same symptom. it will take you 10 seconds to check, and about 2 minutes to fix
The bypass valve is the black cap looking thing with the moving rod that opens and closes it. Play with that rod and make sure its smooth.
Again, are you reading any boost on your guage if you have one? And you didnt touch the timing, meaning youre running stock timing? Did you install this kit yourself? You better get that thing to a professional soon if so, it doesnt sound good. Just FYI, on stock timing and a stock kit w/stock ECU and JR FMU, that thing must be detonating like crazy.

Do you have any duno runs?
It sounds like it is running rich to me, or really lean.
Do you have any of the other JR electronics or the fuel pump installed?
Is this a new or used kit?
If used, how did the rotors look?

i did install the kit myself, i dont have the JR FMU i sold it and got a cartech one, i have the map controller, fuel pump, colder plugs, hondata intake manifold gasket, and 160 degree thermastat I still have stock timimg, my air fuel gauge is reading good, i'm not sure what my boost gauge reads below 4000 rpms, i'll have to check it again. And i have no detonation at all. I took it to a speed shop (hybrid dynamics) and the guy drove it and said my air fuel was good, fuel pressure was good, and i have no detonation problems.
I have no dyno runs
I have the map controller, and fuel pump
the kit is new
and i have air/fuel, boost, fuel pressure, volt, and oil pressure
does that help you out at all, do you have any idea why its running like that
