Default Balancer Shaft recall part to keep seal from backing out

Ok, I had the warrantee work done on this thing a couple years ago, and all they do is put a little retainer on to keep it from backing out. What I noticed was that the retainer causes the lower cover to stick out slightly more than it did, because the retainer bolts to the outside of the cover. Well, this caused my crank pulley to rub against the lower cover, basically wearing a hole in that cover. Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do about this? Looking for opinions......

I have the same problem on my 92Si4Ws. Do you have any details about this recall you're talking about? I don't know if it aplies to me or not or if it has been taken car of before I got the car last summer.
Thanks

all it is is a metal bracket that bolts over the seal.. like he said to stop it from backin out. easy as hell to do..

Hmmmm...how exactly does this bolt in?

I got the bracket, but I didn't see one on it stock so I figured I got the wrong part.

I'm looking at it, but can't tell exactly how it installs.

I guess no one really understood what I was asking, or no one cares. The recall is over, they don't do it anymore, BUT, because of the little bracket, my crank pulley has worn a hole in the lower cover. Has anyone inquired Honda on this? I'd like to think they would replace that piece, FOR FREE! I know, ya right, just want to know if anyone else called them on it.

if its eating a hole in the case u installed it wrong.

the piece is not on there stock.. all it is is like a little C that bolts to the side of the block which will prevent the seal from backing out.

That's what I was wondering, local HONDA dealership did it, not me, and I feel they should replace it free of charge.
