Default Drilling through firewall?

Hey all, I did a search, but I couldn't find anything that really answered my question. It looks like I am going to have to drill through my firewall when I get a Del Sol and do an H22a swap with an LSD tranny because of the fact that my tranny will have a LSD.

Anyways, that is irrelevant pretty much, what I am wondering is if drilling through the firewall will hurt the car in any way, or if it will do anything negative for that matter? Even something small that doesn't hurt the car, like would it be abnormally hot in the cabin of the car? Would it cost a lot to do this? Just wondering...any help is appreciated.

when you say "drilling," i am assuming you mean to drill screw size holes? if so then it won't harm your firewall what so ever. the firewall if a strong piece of metal that can withhold small drill holes...ie: most of the time audio shops mount the alarm siren to it; i've seen people mount their oil catch can on it; people with 3pt. strut bars drill into the wall....well you get the point. hth

no need to drill firewall. drill throught the bottom of the center about a foot from the shifter then route the cables underneath the car through the gap of the center cross member. thats the way i did mine anyways comes out cleaner.
