lsd making my car jerk?????
ok i have a 97 integra with a gsr joined with a ctr tranny from HMO every time i turn the wheels the car jerks (or wheel hops??) The tranny is an lsd and i was wondering if anybody has had the same problems that i have had. I just put 2 1/2 qts of royal purple in the car and is still doing the samething. I have two brand new halfshafts in the car, and enjo motor mount in it too but the rear mount is stock if it matters. o ya and when i was driveing it ever time that i let off the gas when i am going down the road the car wants to pull to the right?? is my diff stuck or is my tranny just junk?
any help will help
P.S. let me know if you need any more details.
thanks for your time

i had the same problem with mine. I didnt know i had a clutch type lsd untill i took the tranny off and open it up. So i just installed the tranny about half an hour ago and mine still cluncking. But i havent broken it in yet doing the whole figure 8 thing for a 30 min. So im hoping the breakin will me the noise go away.
Did you just install yours or did you have it in for a while? and what type is it?
i tryed the royal purple and it didnt help so i just order ATS diff fluid.

Re: lsd making my car jerk????? (laziebun)
i have had my trans in my car for like 2 weeks but have not drivin it that much with the problem (dont want to blow up another trans) Plus i didnt know you had to break in an lsd trans? Also where did you get that fluid from.
o ya do you know if your trans sat for a while before you put it in your car? because mine did and i was told that if they sit then it takes a while for the diff to get lube up?

Re: lsd making my car jerk????? (kings**t)
hey man i got it in and its working. ... i just completed the figure 8 for like 15 mins and felt dumb as hell going in circle at the school parking lot. But so far so good. i havent really got on it. Kind of scared since i took the tranny apart and restack the lsd clutch in a different order, so that it wouldnt grab so hard since this is only a daily car for me. Plus this was the first time i ever took a tranny apart so im nervous that i might have for got something or didnt put bolt back in the transmission.
But if a tranny was going to lock would it have already lock up? if anyone knows.

Re: lsd making my car jerk????? (kings**t)
im not sure where its at on their webpage. But i was talking to ATS and he gave me the part number for the fluid. ATS fluid Ar7590-01 is the part nmber. YOu can call them and just ask for that part number. But if i were you i would make sure what kind of LSD you have first.

Re: lsd making my car jerk????? (laziebun)
I mixed mine with 2 quarts of GM Syncromesh Friction Modified and some 80weight.
The Kaaz fluid is expensive and I don't want to purchase it everytime I do a transmission flush.
I've had my transmission in two different cars in the past 3 years and to this day it is still holding it down. ITR trans with Kaaz clutch type LSD (same thing as the CTR diffs)
*Edit. To tell if you have a aftermarket diff, like the CTR trans sometimes comes with. See if the hole thru the diff is stepped down. If it doesn't step down at all, its a factory helical diff. It it steps down to a smaller hole then you have a clutch type. If you see a pin, you got ripped
Good luck.

GM stands for General Motor and you can get it at General Motor dealership part department.
I'm sure this is it......

Make sure it's 100% Friction Modified.
The Parts Guy always asks me if I'm getting it for a Honda. (you know, all the kids getting it for 'grinds')

Re: lsd making my car jerk????? (Redcoupe)
A couple of years ago I broke 3 axles in one weekend. I didn't realize I had a clutch type lsd unfortunately I found out the hard way by shattering 3 axles. I don't buy the kaaz stuff because its too damn expensive me. I run GM lsd additive and then like 80-90 weight gear oil. The little additive bottle is like 4- 6ounces and cost like $8 bucks if I remember correctly. Ford has an lsd additive also but I haven't tried that one yet. If your going to get the GM additive make sure you get the older forumla. They have a new one for newer cars but I haven't tried that one yet. I've been using this combination for about 4 years now with no problems. This is in my autox car that I run slicks on so the lsd is getting abused more then a daily driver.
Just make sure you go a few figure 8's after put the new fluid in.

hey did the bottle look just like the one picture i posted?? and do you have pictures of the additive?
I might have to do that when i change the fluid and save some money.
