Default just installed c's short shifter in my s2000....

i just finnished installing a short shifter in the car.....
wow i never thought that the s2k shift travel could be any shorter....
the height of the shifter dropped 1in.
the travel feels like almost half of normal shifter...
one bad thing is that the shifter leans towards the right side cuz it was made for a right hand drive vehicle....(when you put it in reverse, my hand kept hitting the e brake handle...)
overall it feels good and very precise....

for me personally.... i like the stock height with the oem titanium **** the best.

don't care for voodoo or anything else that modifies the height as i believe there is such thing as having too short a throw....

How does the shifting feel? I know s2ks are known to have great gearboxes but a short shifter like C's could make the thing a little more prone to misshifting. I want a Cs for my dc2r, what do you think?

so far i have not missed shift in any gear....
the throw seems to be more precise from 6th to 4th downshift and also 1st to 2nd to 3rd upshift......

i have heard about the angle of the shifter (for JDM). Does it REALLY make a difference? I am going with either the ARC or Voodoo **** (I'm not a big fan of the OEM ****), and had no plans to go with short shift. However, if it does make a difference, and still maintains easy, precise shifting, I'd be interested. Any pictures? (I guess a short-shift wouldn't really have too much in terms of pix)

A counter-sunk **** from Rick's Signature Accessories http://www.ricks2k.com costs $25-35 and would accomplish the same 1" drop in shift height.

$400 and a headache-style install doesn't seem very practical at all.

EDIT: fixed URL

But the purpose of the short shifter is not to reduce the height. Rather it reduces the angle of the travel.

by reducing the height, you actually change the fulcrum point with the voodoo ****. it is too easy to install and there are no headaches nor any right hand drive issues that you have with the C's short shift kit.

Sounds good. I've had my Cs shifter sitting i the box for about a month now.. It's for a 2000 SI. Did you upgrade your bushings? I also purchased Mugen bushings to install with the Cs shifter. For my specific application, I also had to purchase an ITR shift linkage.. If you guys wanna purchase the Cs, go to Leo @ http://www.jdmspecperf.com Great guy..

I don't think there are any bushings on the S2K shifter. There is no linkage since the shifter goes directly into the transmission (gotta love that RWD setup).
