Default Read About Cams, STILL NO CLUE! Help! =)

I searched and read every ITR/CTR/JUN/Spoon/Skunk2 Cam post and I'm still unsure so if you could help me it would help, definitely. (Weird Sentence) My number one priority is reliability, because this car is for daily driving only with a side of fun. Second is cost because I can always wait. CTR cams have a different intake lobe I'm guessing, but which would be better, what needs to be upgraded and how much in general is everything that is needed to accomodate new cams. Also, how much would installation be? After installation of cams, what else is recommended?

Thanks In Advance

When it comes to reliability, the install is the most important thing. With more radical cams, you'd want stiffer valve springs, and stronger valve retainers. You also might want cam gears and a v-afc for tuning. I'd suggest CTR/ITR cams, they're relatively cheap and make decent gains. If you're gonna go with JUN or Toda or spoon be prepared to spend more money than you'd like to.

The process isn't cheap, and you might not get as much power as you expect for the kind of money you spend. But i would say it's a bit more reliable than forced induction.

cam gears are a must with aftermarket cams.ur also wanna get a VAFC to take full advantage of the cams. IF u stay factory, CTR is the way to go. u will be ok on stock valve train...but getting the ITR springs and retainers are a good idea.

as far a aftermarket cams... i hear the crowers are pretty dope. as for the springs and retainers..U MUST UPGRADE THEM!!

as far as installation goes i cant help ya...i ve gotten all my stuff installed cheap from friends. i have the ITR cams, aem gears and VAFC on my geeser...great top end and mid range
