fucked ,it wont go into gear
i took it to the shop ,they told me i need a clutch....what do u think i should do , i think it may be something different ...or can it be a clutch ???

lol im in the same shape as of yesterday, my throw out bearing and or pressure plate failed and im stuck. kinda sucks now i gotta take that damn transmission off again.

 

Uh oh...I think you may have the same problem as me. Has your car ever gotten stuck in gear too???

I decided not to figure out the problem (tried changing the clutch master and slave cylinder...that didn't help.) I am getting an H22 swap for my car now.

I don't want to "TRY" to have it fixed and then find out after spending $700+ to have the clutch upgraded...that the clutch is not the problem.

Hope you don't have the same problem as me.

 

what was your car doing ...mine just out if nowhere started to not be able to shift ,so i took it to the shop in 4th the whole way ,i just could not shift if i took it out of gear it was very hard to get back ingaged,the shop said i need a new clutch ,but the work has not been do yet !!!! ...what should i do PLZ HELP ASAP

I just don't believe that it is the clutch because if the clutch was going out...it would have over time...not all of the sudden.

Are you going with an aftermarket clutch?? How much did they estimate the cost to change the clutch will be???

 

no i got a oem from from a friend for $100, labor like 4-5 bills .....
i thought a clutch wore out like brakes myself ....but the shop said i could have blown up the pressure plate ...so i want to see when it comes out what it looks like ,i;m so pissed off, dont know what to do ...tell the shop on MON check out other stuff first???? they looked at it a said "YEP ITS THE CLUTCH" i'm not sure that it is ,so WTF do i do !!!! if its not they still have to fix it and i want to get a new clutch,so if they fix and it works good i guess i;ll be happy .....i just want my car back !!!!! RIGHT !!!!!

This exact thing happened to my friend's 89 RX-7. He could NOT get it into any gear except 4th, not even reverse. If he did get it into any other gear it would make a funky tinking sound.. and eventually even that quit. Ended up he ripped the teeth off two or 3 gears in his tranny some how, and bend the shift fork. Nice combo huh? heh

 

dont think i have that promble....but it will be interesting to see mon what the shop says
