Default ** Yikeeess NO OIL NO WHERE ** Help ! ! !

My check oil when on during the last week and i didn't have a chance to check the car so I parked it down the driveway. Today, I changed the oil filter and had the engine run for like 30seconds while the check oil light still on. I pull the filter out, and there was absolutely no oil at all in it, zero, nada ! ! ! ! ! The engine is a 1999 b18b with a custom t25 turbo and had been running real strong. I must say, even with the check light on, the engine is turning well, so well that if the light was not on, I would'nt suspect anything wrong (no clunk, clank ou any noise... from the engine).... What do you thing can be wrong with the motor ? bTW... oil level is full ...

Thanks

Well, I must say that the bottom end internals are probably OK, because they *sit* in a bath of oil. As for the oiling problem, I would first check the heart of the situatuation. The oil pump. This will require a tear down. Are you POSITIVE the oil level is full? You mentioned a turbo, is it oil injected? Is there the possibility of air in oil lines? If there is, the pump cannot fill it with oil because you will get a different reaction with oil to air pressurization. Same thing happens when your Brake lines get air in them, and stiffen or lock. They cant pressurize the fluid inside them, and therefore you get the hard pedal. Perhaps the oil pump needed a priming before youstarted it and ran it... Is the engine freshly rebuilt?? I just need some more answers before I can offer anymore advice.

Hi Scott, the engine is not freshly rebuilt. The problem happened to me when Iwas driving the car, and I am 100% positive the is no air in the line (at the best I know) as well as oil level is good. I can hardly believe a b18b 1999 engine mildly driven can see it's oil pump dying so quickly....

Thanks

Maybe you have a clog somewhere.
Drop oil pan and see what oil pick up looks like.
