tweeter and amp help

right now, i hook up my kenwood tweeter to stock deck;
i heard if i hook up to an amp; the sound quality is much better
can i blow the tweeter up?

Yes, you can ruin a tweeter by overpowering it, or distortion, just like any other speaker. They don't need much power though. ~50 watts max should suffice.
