Default max boost?

anybody have a rough idea of how much boost a stock h22 can handle for daily driving before the ring lands give out? 10 psi or less?

8lbs is safe for daily driving. 10-12 lbs if you have a standalone (hondata or AEM) with excellent tuning.

hmmm, i would say 6 max daily driver, especially if its JDM cause i believe those are higher compression. if you go much higher, your probably going to run into problems.

It all depends on your fuel setup. With a set of 450's and an SMC/VAFC, I wouldn't go over 8psi. With a decent "stand-alone" you could easily crank it up to 14psi.

The JDM does have higher compression but with proper tuning higher boost isn't a problem. Just get it tuned on a dyno.

so yeah, if you want to go cheap, retard the timming a few degrees, find a Vortech FMU on e-bay or something, and boost 5-6 psi. but make sure you have the right kind of turbo, like for example a Garett T3/TO4E. Your not going to want a smaller turbo cause a higher compression engine like yours is going to rely on a greater mass of air, so make sure you keep that in mind.
